Clervie is an explosive and ambitious player, a former world junior No. 1 and the 2023 Wimbledon girls’ champion. Clervie Ngounoue is a professional tennis player who is part of the Champ’seed programme at the Mouratoglou Academy. She has an older sister, Malkia, who played tennis at university, and a younger brother, Carel, who plays junior tennis and is also helped by Champ’seed.
She played her first match on the WTA Tour at the US Open in 2023, where she lost in the first round to Australia’s Daria Saville. She had already played at Flushing Meadows before, where she received an invitation to play in the qualifiers at just 15 years of age, in 2021! The Washington native is still looking for her first victory on the big circuit. Among juniors, Clervie Ngounoue was world No 1 in 2023, the year she won the Wimbledon girls title.
Clervie Ngounoue currently has two titles on the ITF circuit (W50 Dallas, W35 Naples). She entered the WTA Top 300 in July 2024.
