After-School Program
A post-school program tailored for progress, where students refine technique, develop confidence, and enjoy the game.
San Domenico is California’s first independent school. The academic program is rooted in inquiry, reflection, and purpose, and aims to help students identify what drives them as individuals and how they can make a positive impact in the world.
San Domenico offers both day and boarding options for students from the San Francisco Bay Area, across the country, and around the world. The community brings together young people from more than 20 countries, creating an environment where diverse perspectives and shared values coexist.
This program offers student-athletes the opportunity to train at a high level while pursuing a purpose-driven education within the academic environment of San Domenico School. Each day is structured to support both athletic development and personal growth, guided by a community that values inquiry, reflection, and intention.
Developed by world-renowned coach Patrick Mouratoglou, the method blends high-intensity training with personalized development. Each student-athlete follows a program tailored to their game, technically, physically, and mentally.
At Mouratoglou Academy San Francisco, training is scheduled around the academic commitments of San Domenico students, ensuring school remains at the center while students pursue excellence in tennis.
The Tennis and School Program allows students enrolled at San Domenico to pair a rigorous academic education with tennis training through Mouratoglou on the same campus. Mouratoglou-certified coaches provide high-level instruction, while San Domenico — California’s first independent K–12 school — delivers an exceptional academic experience.
The program is designed for middle and high school students (grades 6–12) who wish to combine a rigorous education at San Domenico with high-level tennis training through Mouratoglou. It is well suited to motivated students with both academic ambition and a passion for developing their game.
Yes. San Domenico School offers full-time boarding for Upper School students. Yes. International students participating in the Mouratoglou Tennis and School Program are part of San Domenico’s boarding community, alongside peers from more than 20 countries. This global environment fosters inclusion, connection, and diverse perspectives both in the classroom and on the courts.
Students benefit from small class sizes, a curriculum rooted in inquiry and reflection, and a faculty focused on long-term development. San Domenico’s academic model supports both high achievement and personal purpose.
Yes. In addition to the first-class college counseling provided by San Domenico to all of its students, participants in the Tennis and School Program also benefit from Mouratoglou’s extensive guidance and resources. This includes support related to university admissions, athletic scholarships, and long-term player development. Together, these resources help students prepare for the next step in their academic and athletic journeys.
Tennis coaching follows the Mouratoglou methodology, developed by internationally renowned coach Patrick Mouratoglou. Training is personalized to each athlete’s profile—technical, tactical, physical, and mental.
The Tennis & School Program takes place on the campus of San Domenico School, located in Marin County, just north of San Francisco. The setting combines academic tradition, natural beauty, and access to world-class facilities.
Students in the Tennis & School Program are full San Domenico students. They take part in the school’s academic program — as day or boarding students — with access to the full range of classes, activities, and community life. Mouratoglou does offer other programs on campus that are open to non–San Domenico student participants, but the Tennis & School Program is specifically designed for enrolled San Domenico students.
