TENNIS LESSONS
Explore individual instruction as a complement to your family’s tennis goals. Private tennis lessons give players a more focused setting to discuss specific skills and priorities.

Children build a relationship with tennis one experience at a time. At Mouratoglou Tennis Center New York, the junior pathway brings together Red, Orange, Green and Yellow stages with High Performance / Tournament Training. It gives young players a direction as their skills grow and their interests evolve. From discovering the game to pursuing competition, the aim is to help each child develop their own confidence and sense of purpose on court.

For juniors drawn to competitive tennis, High Performance / Tournament Training is the next area of the pathway to explore. Its focus is preparation for the demands of tournament play, where reliable skills must hold up during points. Technical development and tactical awareness become increasingly connected to concentration and decision-making.

The Red, Orange, Green and Yellow pathway gives junior tennis a recognizable sequence of development. Each stage represents a different learning environment as players become more comfortable with rallies, movement and point play. Progress is about readiness for the next challenge rather than simply moving through a list of labels. The team can explain how the New York program uses these stages and help families understand the appropriate starting point.
Red Ball: Discover tennis through basic ball skills, movement and first rallies.
Orange Ball: Build stroke control, coordination and confidence through more consistent exchanges.
Green Ball: Develop longer rallies, purposeful movement and an understanding of point construction.
Yellow Ball: Refine technique, positioning and tactical choices through full-court point play.
Junior tennis sits within a club built around a wider range of sporting activities. The center has two indoor hard courts year-round, six outdoor Har-Tru clay courts in summer and seven Har-Tru courts under a seasonal bubble in winter.

The junior approach takes its direction from Patrick Mouratoglou, former coach of Serena Williams and Holger Rune. His philosophy recognizes that young players do not all learn in the same way or develop at the same pace. The Mouratoglou methodology connects technical foundations with tactical understanding, physical development and the mental side of playing. That perspective gives the pathway a personal dimension, with each stage serving a child’s development rather than becoming an end in itself.
The junior program at Mouratoglou Tennis Center New York includes Red, Orange, Green and Yellow stages. High Performance / Tournament Training adds a competitive option within the pathway.
Red, Orange, Green and Yellow are the successive stages of the junior development pathway. They support progression toward more developed tennis; the team can explain the learning objectives and setup used for each stage in New York.
The appropriate stage depends on your child’s experience and readiness for the demands of the program. Contact the New York junior tennis team to discuss their background and learn about placement.
High Performance / Tournament Training is the competitive part of the junior pathway. Ask the team about the training structure and entry requirements for juniors looking to prepare for tournament play.
Age eligibility for each stage can be confirmed directly with Mouratoglou Tennis Center New York. Give the team your child’s age and playing experience so they can explain the relevant options.
